Eleanor "Joyce" Hoffmaster

MADISON - Eleanor “Joyce” Hoffmaster, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Oak Park Place. She was born on April 17, 1932, in Madison, the daughter of Rudolph and Nina (Enfield) Pieper.

Joyce graduated from Madison East High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Larry Hoffmaster on September 11, 1954, in Madison. Joyce worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Wisconsin, retiring after 20 plus years of service. She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church.

Joyce enjoyed solving cross word puzzles and taking care of others. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Joyce is survived by her son, David Hoffmaster; five grandchildren, James Hoffmaster, Sarah (Brian) Mellon, Scott (Megan) Hoffmaster, Jeffrey Hoffmaster and Echo Wickline; six great-grandchildren, Devin Hoffmaster, Aaron Plunkett, Cameron Mellon, Harlan Mellon, Reagan Mellon and Kiera Hoffmaster; and sister, Elaine Pieper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hoffmaster; parents, Rudolph and Nina; brother, Ronald Pieper; and sister, Rachel Pieper.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, with Father Michael Tarigopula presiding. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
