MADISON - Elaine Maxine Dutcher, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Chamomile Assisted Living. She was born on June 20, 1934, in Madison, the daughter of R.W. and Mabel (Johnson) Sorenson.
Elaine graduated from Madison East High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Dean Dutcher on July 25, 1953, in Dubuque, IA.
Elaine devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. One of her greatest joys was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching television and scary movies, and was a devoted fan of WWE and AEW wrestling. She also loved working on puzzles, collecting classic films, and collecting books her daughter has written.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Debbie Fritter; her sons, David (Sandy Spence) Dutcher, Paul (Tracy) Dutcher, and Mark (Tina) Dutcher; grandchildren, Parker Dutcher, Matthew (Lydia) Dutcher, Payton (Peter) Birschbach, Dawson Dutcher, Mason Dutcher, Colton Dutcher, Travis (Shelley) Dutcher and Desiree Dutcher; great-grandchildren, Makenna Dutcher, Courtney (Brendon) Krull, Theodore Dutcher and TJ Dutcher; great-great children, Addison Krull and Nolan Krull; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Dean Dutcher; parents, Rasmus and Mabel Sorenson; sisters, Beatrice (Jerry) Hesser, Mabel (Robert) Kapke, Marjorie (Richard) Borchert, Donna Jean Sorenson and Marian (Frank) VanderWegen; brothers, William (Gwen) Sorenson and Robert (Shirley) Sorenson; son-in-law, Randy Fritter; and granddaughters, Ashley Smith and Tiffany Dutcher.
