Obituary

MOUNT HOREB - Caroline Ward, age 67, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at Vita-Care in Mount Horeb. She was born on June 4, 1957, in Hazel Green, the daughter of Masel (Woodard) Grass.


Caroline graduated from Darlington High School in 1976. She was united in marriage to Harry "Neil" Ward on December 28, 1977 in Darlington at Grace Lutheran Church. They were later divorced but remained great friends, living together, coparenting and taking care of one another. She worked as a cake decorator for Cub Foods for 10 years and leaving that position in 1991 to stay at home and care for her daughters.


Caroline loved playing cards with her family, especially Euchre and Cribbage and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and hearing about their lives. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, journaling, solving word searches, coloring, and playing board games, especially Sorry! She was in bowling leagues at both Ranch House Lanes and Viking Lanes. Caroline was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed their rivalry with the Green Bay Packers. She also liked cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers Football Team.


Caroline is survived by her daughters, Angela Hahn and Amy (Zach Miller) Eisele; two grandchildren, Maddie Hahn and Bekett Eisele; three bonus grandchildren, Easton, Bentley and Anika Miller; and many siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents; and life partner and father of her children, Harry “Neil.”


A celebration of life will take place at NORSK GOLF CLUB, 2755 Norsk Golf Bowl Road, Mount Horeb, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024. She will be laid to rest at Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington, WI during a private family burial.

I met Caroline when June moved to Vitacare she was so welcoming and friendly, she made June’s transition at Vitacare a happy one. We had many nice visits and laughs.
