Kathryn Raelyn Politowicz Katie

OREGON - Kathryn “Katie” Politowicz, age 66, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, in Oregon. She was born on February 6, 1959, in Bellflower, Calif., the daughter of Bob and Fay Compton.

Katie graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in 1977. She worked in the critical power industry, retiring in 2024 and enjoyed her time volunteering at the BeeHive.

Katie and Philip Politowicz were married for nearly 18 years, filled with much love and laughter. Her wonderful sense of humor had them both laughing most of the time. Katie was kind and compassionate and always there for anyone who needed her. She was passionate about agility dog training, and enjoyed painting, putting puzzles together, scrapbooking, and playing games and singing with her family. She also enjoyed her Bunco group.  

Katie will be dearly missed by her husband, Philip; children, Devin (Heather) Weiland, Alexander Politowicz and Isabelle Politowicz; sisters, Kelly Compton, Connie (Steve) Swed and Camée Compton; brothers, Curtis (Pam) Compton and Ken Compton; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Phyllis Politowicz; and brother-in-law, Marc Gustafson.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday.
