MCFARLAND - Donna M. Swiggum, age 95, of McFarland, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at Milestone Senior Living in Stoughton. She was born on Sept. 22, 1929, in Owen, Wis., the daughter of Floyd and Elda (Vachon) Clifton.
Donna was a graduate of Owen-Withee High School. She married Francis Swiggum on May 20, 1950, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Madison. In addition to her role as a wife and mother, she worked as a leasing associate for Kayser Ford Leasing. In her free time, Donna enjoyed knitting, counted cross stitch, taking gambling trips, and bowling.
Donna is survived by her children, Suzanne (Roger) Oakey, Glen Swiggum, Carol Taplin and Melodie (Tom) Virnig; grandchildren, Patrick (Sarah) Oakey, Kristin (David) Price, Paul (Jennifer) Oakey, Glen Swiggum Jr., Dana (Dan) Steiner, Jessica (Kent Jakubek) Staszak, Whitney (Tim) Peterson, Derek Taplin and Jacob (Alysa) Ninneman; many great grandchildren; brother, Floyd (Jack) Clifton; sister, Darlene Karraker; sister-in-law, Bette Reynolds; special niece, LeeAnn Glover; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Swiggum; siblings, Kenneth Clifton, E. Beverly Davis, Donald Clifton and Jerry Clifton.
A memorial service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Care, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, with Father Chad Droessler presiding. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oregon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Skaalen Nursing Home and Milestone Senior Living for all of their wonderful care given to Donna. Memorials may be gifted in Donna's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
