SUN PRAIRIE - Timothy John Nolan, age 66, of Sun Prairie, Wis., bravely fought the good fight and was hopeful to the end, finally succumbing to complications from heart disease and diabetes on Sept. 24, 2024.

Tim was born on Sept. 25, 1957, in Beth Page, N.Y., the fourth child of Bill and Doris Nolan.

Bill's U.S. Army career required several moves around the country during Tim's early years. After Bill's retirement from the military in 1967, the family settled in Madison, Wis.

Tim attended St. Dennis School and Queen of Apostles High School, graduating in 1975. After graduating from Madison Area Technical College, he held various positions in logistics management before retiring in 2020.

When Diane Burton came into his life, Tim found his forever partner. They married on April 24, 1999, in Madison. They shared 25 happy years together, making their home in Sun Prairie, where Tim's meticulous nature was on display in the way he cared for their property. They enjoyed a strong community of neighbors and friends.

Tim and Diane loved camping with friends, and also took many weekend adventures, traveling to various locations and exploring their shared interest in lighthouses.

Though he did not have his own children, Tim was a devoted dog dad to Max, and we're quite sure Max is nestled happily on Tim's lap once again. He was also a loving uncle and great-uncle to many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, from both his and Diane's sides of the family.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Diane, who was always by his side and a devoted advocate and caregiver as Tim faced his medical challenges. He is further survived and missed by his four siblings, Kathi Quinn, Waukesha, Patti Lorbecki (Dave), Jefferson, Father Bill Nolan, Madison, and Janet Masters (Kevin), Cottage Grove; and many other extended family members. Despite the distance, he also cherished relationships with his New York cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, with Father Bill Nolan and Deacon Rick Miech presiding. A visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tim’s memory may be made to any humane society of your choice or the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
