Obituary

STOUGHTON / DEERFIELD - Kathleen Lee Schumacher, age 79, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at home. She was born on Sept. 6, 1945, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Orlin and Dorothy (Ostrander) Lampman.

Kathleen graduated from Deerfield High School and went on to take courses in typing and medical transcription through MATC. She enjoyed a career in this field until her retirement in 2016. Kathleen met her future husband, Bobby, when they were young. Kathleen and Bobby were married for a short but wonderful 20 years prior to Bobby’s passing in 1988. They were blessed when they were able to adopt their son, Paul, making their family complete.

Kathleen loved euchre! She was friendly and outgoing, very social in her community. The family joke was that people had to call and make an appointment to see and visit her. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved her cat, Smokey. She was a member of Marshall Baptist Church for 16 years.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Paul Alan Schumacher; brothers, Stephen (Nancy) Lampman and Daniel (Kathleen) Lampman; brother-in-law, Howard McAllister; other extended family members and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Schumacher; brothers, Donald Lampman, Irvin L. Lampman and David Lampman; and sisters, Dorothy (Tom) Coenen and Phillis McAllister.

A graveside service will be held at PRAIRIE MOUND CEMETERY, Oregon, Wis., at 1 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 25, 2024.

Kathleen’s family would like to thank the staff and residence of Colonial View apartments, and also would like to thank the pastoral staff and congregation at Marshall Baptist Church for their loving friendship and care to Kathleen.

Kathy was a good friend. I knew her through our church, Marshall Baptist Church. She will truly be missed. Her faith was in Christ Jesus. She is with the Lord now.

We knew Kathy for many years - since she had been a member of Marshall Baptist Church. Kathy is missed very much. The place where she would sit when at church looks so empty. See you later, Kathy, "when we all get to Heaven!"
