Obituary
MADISON - Marion Ruth Falch-Halverson passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024. There was a private family funeral presided over by the Rev. Dan Kowert from Lutheran Church of the Living Christ on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. Burial was at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church in Keyser, Wis. Marion was laid to rest with her late husband, Bill Falch.
Marion was the daughter of Sena and Carl Burke and was preceded by her siblings, Delbert, Raymond, Willard, Gordon, Burnette, Arnold, Kenneth and James Burke; her son-in-law Michael Beckon (Tara); and many loving relatives including in laws and nieces and nephews. Marion and her husband, Bill, raised their three daughters Victoria Daggett, Tara Beckon, and Stefanie Krco in Monona, Wis.
Marion and Bill shared a long happy marriage which included extensive traveling and spending time with their daughters and at their home in Monona and on the beach at their home in Venice, Fla. Marion and Bill spent years laughing with family members including an especially close bond with Leo and Burnette Benish. They enjoyed spending time with neighbors from Midland Lane boating in Door County and skiing up north. One of Bill and Marion’s favorite hobbies was spending countless hours golfing together as often as possible.
Later in life, widowed Marion, met and married former UW football player, Charles Halverson. Marion and Chuck lived in Madison and enjoyed going to UW Football and basketball games together and sharing worship and fellowship at The Lutheran Church of The Living Christ. Marion’s career included working at The Federation of the Blind, and The Air National Guard, and concluded with administrative leadership and accounting position in a top female owned business in Wisconsin.
Marion will be remembered as a very loving positive happy lady who loved to laugh and sing, and who enjoyed her family and the finer things in life. She is survived by her husband, Charles; her daughters, Victoria, Tara and Stefanie; her beloved grandchildren, Shannon Daggett/Horstmeyer and Tyler William Kuehn, Trenton William Kuehn and Tristyn Lynette Kuehn; and her much loved great-grandchildren, Dylan and Derek Horstmeyer.
