BALTIMORE, Md. / OREGON, Wis. - Mary Dawson Nason (nee Snyder), beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was taken home by God on Sept. 13, 2024, to be reunited with her husband and soulmate, Joseph.
The oldest of four daughters, Mary was born in Baltimore, Md., on March 22, 1942, to Marie Antoinette (DeAngelis) Snyder and Charles Dawson Snyder. Mary enjoyed archaeology and history, but she dearly cherished her family and friends and loved spending time with and doing things for them. She was happiest when she was in the background cheering for those she loved. She eagerly took any opportunity to attend her family’s activities and support them in every endeavor they pursued.
Mary dedicated her life to her husband, family, friends, and her Lord. She lived a life filled with kindness and grace and touched the lives of everyone she met. She was generous with her attention, love and praise, and gave freely of herself and her possessions. Mary’s sense of humor and laughter endeared her to innumerable people as she was driven to make others happy.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Thomas Nason; and her son, Joseph Thomas Nason, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Angela (Nason) Lokuta; son-in-law, Andrew Lokuta; and grandchildren, Joseph A. Lewis-Nason (Jen), Evan C. Nason, Benjamin Joseph Lokuta, and Victoria Grace Lokuta. Our lives are so much richer for having been blessed to have her in our family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, with Father Randy Budnar celebrating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that interested parties consider a donation to Holy Mother of Consolation Church. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
