Obituary

MIDDLETON - In loving memory of Ann F. (Meier) May, age 87, who passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, October 6, 2024. She was born January 10, 1937, the daughter of John and Mary (Wagner) Meier.

Ann was swept away by United States Air Force Airman, Billy May, when they met at a veterans dance; they were married for 64 years. Bill kept a picture of his bride, Ann, in his wallet until his death in 2023. Together they were blessed with five children and six grandchildren. Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother; she took immense pride in her family’s accomplishments.  Ann lived a life of faith. She was raised by her parents to trust in God and that with Jesus anything is possible.

Ann was the beloved mother of Michael (Cindy) May, Mary (Terry Breen) May and Peggy (Stephen) Beaver; and grandmother of Christian, Amanda, Sarah (Noah), Nickie (Juleixy), Elyse and Ella. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Lehman, sister-in-law, Elda Meier; brother-in-law, Fred Kempfer; and many other loving family members. She will be reunited in heaven with her dearest husband, Bill; her much loved children, Denise and Patricia “Patsy”; and many family members who preceded her in death.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Amanda and Cindy May, Bonny Kellogg, Kim O’Connell and Rosalie Haas for the care they gave Mom. We also thank the parish staff and community of St. Bernard Catholic Church for the prayers, love, friendship and support they shared with Mom throughout her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, with Father Brian Dulli presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday. Luncheon and fellowship will follow the service in the Church Hall.

We pray and ask for Ann and those faithfully departed to guide us here on earth, to remain faithful and extend the blessings on those we encounter here in our daily lives and those who we will encounter in the days to come in Jesus’ name. AMEN

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Ann to Agrace HospiceCare.

Ann was one of the most loving mothers I've ever met. Patient beyond imagination, a great sense of humor, and kindness for everyone.
