Gwendolyn Stae

HARTLAND / MADISON - Gwendolyn Lou “Gwen” Stae passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at the age of 90, wearing her Green Bay Packers gear. Gwendolyn was born in 1934, in Ashland, Wis., to Belton and Eileen Gustafson. Gwen married the love of her life, David Lee Stae, in 1956. David preceded Gwen in death in 2016.

David and Gwen moved to Hartland in 1966, where Gwen worked as a Kindergarten teacher. Gwen and David spent over 45 years enjoying their summers at their family cabin on Jungle Lake. After their retirement, they spent their winters on the sandy beaches of Siesta Key, Fla. Gwen and David were proud Green Bay Packers season ticket holders since 1960 when the Packers played in Milwaukee. Gwen loved all sports and even enjoyed watching golf although she never played. They followed the Badgers to the Rose Bowl and Packers to the Super Bowl in New Orleans and brought home wins for both games. Gwen enjoyed playing cards, making raspberry jelly and shopping. Gwen and David were known for having Brandy Manhattans with a plate of cheese and crackers with their special friends on a regular basis. Gwennie was known for her carefree, easy-going spirit and had a wonderful sense of humor - always had the perfect one liners!! She loved her sweets, especially anything chocolate. Gwen loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and in recent years her four great-grandsons.

Gwen is survived by her son, Michael (Sally) Stae; daughter, Carrie (Mike) Euch; granddaughters, Erica (Kyle) Henry and Andrea (Brady) Euch-Blang; and four great-grandsons, Sully, Baker and Howie Henry and Lou Blang.

We will miss you Mom, Gwennie, Gwennie Lou Who, GG. You were a special and funny lady who will be missed, but we will carry on your FUN! Thank you for everything… and always have “no regrets.” In keeping with Gwen’s wishes, no services will be held.
