Mary A. Langenohl

MADISON - Mary A. Langenohl, age 84, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on May 7, 1940, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Sylvester and Marcella (Kallas) Marks.

Mary graduated from Holy Angels Academy in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Frederick C. Langenohl in 1967. Mary was a proud military wife of 20 years during Fred’s time in the U.S. Navy. Together Mary and Fred had many fun adventures living in San Diego, Hawaii and Yorktown, Va. Eventually they made their home in Pewaukee.

When Mary’s daughters became school-aged, Mary volunteered at their elementary school library. She loved the experience so much, and eventually served as a librarian assistant within the Pewaukee Public library.

Mary was a faithful member of St. Anthony on the Lake in Pewaukee and most recently St. Maria Goretti in Madison. She enjoyed quiet tranquility and found solace in praying the Rosary daily.  She loved being outdoors in nature, especially gardening and gathering with her family for celebrations.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Lori Starks and Amy Langenohl; sister, Grace Waters; sister-in-law, Lynne Marks; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick; infant daughter, Michelle; brother, Robert Marks; and brother-in-law, Bill Waters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ANTHONY ON THE LAKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, W280N2101 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee, Wis., at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony on the Lake Parish.

A special thank you to Agrace HospiceCare.
