Obituary

POYNETTE - Bonnie L.  Zeman, age 76, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Stoughton Hospital. While we grieve the loss of her physical presence, we take comfort in knowing that she has found eternal peace in the loving embrace of Jesus Christ.

Bonnie was born on October 3, 1947, in Waukesha, WI, the daughter of Wilbert and Vieda (Tyson) Turner. One of nine children, Bonnie was raised in Fort Atkinson and graduated in 1965. On March 23,1983, Bonnie married John Zeman.

Bonnie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, fun-loving spirit, and the profound impact that she had on those around her. She loved music and singing but cherished most the moments spent with family and friends. Bonnie’s life had three main focuses: Jesus, health and wellness, and family. If you crossed her path, you were in for a lively lecture on one of these topics-whether you were ready for it or not. No one was safe from her impromptu wellness seminars or her enthusiastic sermons about Jesus Christ and His saving grace, which she had experienced firsthand.

Bonnie and John prayed for many people every morning before starting their day, being ordained in 2010, Bonnie embarked on a new adventure in ministry at the Portage and Baraboo jails and sustained a dedicated phone prayer ministry for many years fervently ministering with friends for the needs of many.

In addition to John her husband, survivors include her daughters and sons in love (Bonnie’s term) Lori (Mark) Woolever, and Juli (Ken) Krivitz; her grandchildren, Mitchell (Alyssa) Woolever and Brooke (Jacob) Aitken; her great-grandchildren Kennedy and Shephard Woolever and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Gordon (Rose), Wilbert “Dewey” (Nancy) Jr., Arthur (Chris), Robert (Chris), Daryl (Arthur), Grant (Sandy,) and infant brother, James; her sister, Lois (William) Jones, and Bonnie’s previous husband and father of her daughters, Steven O Fossum.

Anyone who knew Bonnie knew she loved to dress well.  If there was a possibility that a hat would go with her outfit, she would have it! In honor of Bonnie please wear your favorite hat to the Celebration.

A Celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at PRAIRIE VALLEY CHURCH, 923 Development Dr. on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11 am. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm at the church, and also on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service.

Bonnie and I both loved sharing the benefits of our Shaklee organic products:) She drove all the way down here (Rockford, IL.) many years ago to share her Chron's battle at my meeting! May she R.I.P.. to a special friend.

I am forever grateful to John and Bonnie for graciously allowing my family to live in the adjoining farmhouse back in the early 90's when I was the Youth Pastor. And for Bonnie introducing me to her Chiro/Wellness doctor when I was suffering with Sinus headaches. Changed my life!

Bonnie was my aunt, but was only 3 years older than me. She came to visit alot when we were growing up, and we were more like sisters than aunt and niece. I remember she used to love to ride on my dad's foot as he tried to walk. I looked up to her as she grew into a beautiful woman. She was talented and fun, and when she and Daryl, her brother, got together, they were always the entertainment. They even starred in a high school production of "HMS Pinafore". Such talent! Her love for the Lord was always evident, even during her bad times, and I considered her a font of wisdom as I was growing up. I always felt she was a part of my life, even though I didn't see her all that often. Since I'm only a few years younger than her, I look forward to seeing her again in the not too distant future. We'll be together with the Lord, and she won't be selling Shaklee 😊. I know that her girls and John will miss her, and are comforted, knowing they'll see her again.
