Obituary

VERONA - Edward Harold Kindschi, age 51, of Verona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare, after a hard-fought battle with colon cancer.

Ed was born on December 13, 1973, in Beloit, the son of Virgil and Sandra (McMahon) Kindschi. After graduating from Beloit Memorial High School in 1992 he attended college at UW-La Crosse where he met a wonderful group of lifelong friends. Following his college graduation in 1996 he moved to Madison and began his career as a financial advisor at M&I Bank and later transitioned to Johnson Bank.

Ed met his wife, Rashelle Frydenlund, in Madison, and they were married on December 10, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. After the birth of their daughter, they became members of St. James Lutheran Church in Verona where Ed went on to serve on the church council.

He was a devoted father and enjoyed many outdoor activities including golfing, skiing, boating, fishing and camping. His love of the outdoors began during his childhood where he spent time with his family at their cabin on Benoit Lake.

Ed is survived by his wife, Rashelle; daughter, Isobel; parents, Virgil and Sandra; and sisters, Hope (Greg) Zuehlke and Faith Kindschi; as well as many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at ST. JAMES EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 427 S. Main St., Verona, at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, with Pastor Peter Narum presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center. Ed's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many medical professionals at UW Hospital and Agrace for the kind and compassionate care they provided. Ed was a special person, always positive. I am honored to have had him as brother in law. Weather talking Badgers, Packers or just hanging out. I treasure the memories and our times together, and will never forget the late night campfires him and I shared after everyone else called it a night, having a few too many drinks and solving all the worlds problems. You will be missed! Until me meet again, Love you brother! Greg Z .

We were lucky to meet Ed right after he graduated and so lucky that he became our "money guy." He was always there when we needed him. Ed was so easy to work with and he always took time to make sure we understood everything. He became a friend and we will miss him. One of the good guys gone way too soon. Nancy and Bernie B

Ed was a very special person who became a trusted friend while he provided multiple members of our family with steadfast financial advice for over more than 20 years. We will remember him fondly, and wish his family God’s Peace on behalf of the Frederick, Chase, DeValk and Venus families.

I was surprised and saddened to hear about Ed's passing. My memories of him go way back to growing up at St. Paul Lutheran in Beloit, where I knew him as Eddie. I had no idea that we were living close to each other again. Praying for peace and comfort for all who love him!
