MADISON - James J. Housel, age 82, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024. He was born on Sept. 11, 1941, in Madison, the son of Warren and Anna (Dallman) Housel. James attended Central High School in Madison. He was united in marriage to Noreen Diederich on Jan. 20, 1964. James was a hard worker and was employed as a street operator for the City of Madison for over 30 years. He enjoyed plowing the snow-covered roads.
James enjoyed camping, fishing and going to car and dirt bike races with his family.
James is survived by his wife, Noreen; sons, James (Judy) Housel, Michael (Sandy) Housel and Robert Housel; daughter, Lori (David) Horne; grandchildren, Page (Katie), Quin (Miriam), Reece (Elena), Travis, Wesley (Julianna), Deidre (OJ), Cutter, Nathan (Kyla) and Cameron; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Anna.
A private family life celebration will be held at a later date.
