Obituary

POYNETTE/LODI - Gloria Mae Clemens, age 92, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 10, 2024.

She was born on May 9, 1932, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI, the daughter of Gustave Grace (Rath) Pribbenow. Gloria graduated from Lodi High School (class of 1950).

She and Roger Clemens were married April 26, 1952. The wedding took place in Texas where Roger was stationed in the Army. They eventually made their way back to Lodi where they lived and raised a family.

Gloria worked a number of places as her and Roger funded the raising of three boys. Some years at Cuna Credit Union in Madison, WI; The Lodi Canning Factory; and many years as the church Secretary for First Lutheran Church in Lodi.

Gloria served and supported multiple organizations including American Legion Auxiliary and The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. She was an enthusiastic member of several vocal groups including the Senior Choir at First Lutheran Church in Lodi. Gloria is also heard on several recordings as a member of vocal groups she sang with.

She enjoyed refinishing furniture and collecting lamps and cardinal memorabilia (the Birds not the Baseball team). But a lifelong commitment to Bible study fueled and challenged her everyday life.

Gloria is survived by her three sons, Michael, William, and James Clemens; grandchild, Brandon; great grandchildren, Josi, Rylan and Ashton Clemens; siblings, Sally McFarlane and Terry Pribbenow; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death her husband, Roger; parents, Gustave and Grace Pribbenow; grandson, Jason Clemens; and brothers, Bob and Richard Pribbenow.

A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATMON CARE, 157 S. Main St., Lodi on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm with a sharing of memories starting at 6 pm. Private burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Gloria was related to my dad and I would see her at church father for women. She was always happy when we got together to talk about family. She will be missed! Sympathy to all! Bonnie Pribbenow

Gloria, You offered so much to the Pribbenow family over many years. Hosting family reunions, sharing your beautiful voice at weddings and funerals. Traveling to Europe with my past sister Marie. I remember that I was a teenager when you asked me to stay in the car with Mike and Bill while Roger came to the hospital to pick up newborn, Jim. So many years ago. My husband Dave and I were able to share a dinner or two with you and Roger. It was always enjoyable. Any time we drive through Lodi, I look for your house.
