VERNON, AL - Penny Masoumi, age 67, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, surrounded by her family.


She was born on September 30, 1956, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Jewell (Steuri) Walton.


Penny graduated from Lodi High School in 1974. She married Rod Masoumi on July 5, 2008.


Penny worked as a certified nurse in the home health care field.


Penny enjoyed riding motorcycle, reading James Patterson novels, and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.


Penny is survived by her husband, Rod; son, Rick Andrews; three daughters, Twyla (Kevin) Ubersox, Nichole (Al) Lewis, and Toni (Michael) Graff; 14 grandkids; four great grandkids; four brothers, John (Wendy), Frederick, Jamie, and Tony (Tracy) Walton.


She was preceded in death by her parents.


Celebration of Life will be held at KD's BAR & GRILL, N1444 Fair St., Lodi, on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

MY name is Linda Malkow Makal. You don’t know me but my dad was Harold Malkow grandson of Sophia Copliensnd William Malkow, William was aunt Mary Marie Malkow her mother Louisa died. And Sophia married William my dad was raised by them his mother Lena Braun Malkow died from childbitrh . I would love to talk to you. I know that Louisa is buried along with 3 of Aunt Mary’s brothers. At Moore Cemetary in Decatur. I go to the cemetery when I get home. Our cousin James Coplien is doing the history.
