MADISON - James Lee Hampton, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on December 13, 1944, in Albany, N.Y., the son of Willie Hampton and Audrey Milton.
James served in the U.S. Army, worked for Ford Motor Company, and retired from Amtrak. He enjoyed working on cars and was skilled in archery, earning a championship award.
James is survived by his daughter, Audrey; sons, Tyrone and Gregory; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Liz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Audrey; and sister, Carol.
