Elane was a very dear friend for so many years. Both with our husbands, Vurdette and Mike, plus bowling and just as gal friends. We loved visiting her home and her fabulous vegetable garden and flowers. She loved talking about her two grandchildren. How smart they were and their sports. The last few years we drifted apart but I'll always treasure our friendship, her laugh, her style and her heart. She will be truly missed. Love, Nan Shaffer

I’m so sorry to learn of Elane’s death. I worked with her for many years at CUNA Mutual. We oftentimes would walk on our lunch hour and share lots of laughs and talk about her family, whom she cherished. She was a very respected colleague who people would often go to if they had a question. Elane, may you rest in peace.

I worked with Elane at CUNA mutual for several years and valued her work ethic. She also joined us for coffee at Yolas after our retirement. I considered her to be a true friend, enjoying her stories of her grandchildren and how she shared the bounty of her garden with all of us. I hope that she was able to enjoy her retirement with Vurdette until he passed away 2 years ago.
