Obituary
MOUNT HOREB - Roseline "Rose" (O’Reilly) Brunner, born in Ireland on Sept. 17, 1942, died peacefully at age 81, on July 26, 2024.
Rose was the beloved wife of Stan Brunner, whom she met in Scotland while he was a U.S. Sailor stationed there. They married July 6, 1980. She became a U.S. citizen on July 15, 1988, and was very proud of that. Together, Rose and Stan lived in Summerville, S.C., until his death in 2009. Rose moved to Wisconsin in 2010. She was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed Sunday Packer parties. The remainder of her years were spent in Wisconsin.
Rose is survived by her children, Eamon Melaugh of Ireland, Anne (Kent) Disch and Maureen (Brent) Curtis, both of Summerville, S.C.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; in-laws, Steve (Dolly) Brunner of Belleville, Linda (Bob) Peart of Waunakee, Brad Brunner of Topeka, Kan., Bob (Jean) Brunner of Reedsburg, Vicki (the late Vern) Ripp of Cross Plains, Cindi (the late Ken) Brunner of Mount Horeb, Kerry (Cheryl) Brunner of Blue River, Kathy (Don) Wonn of Mount Horeb, Gerilyn (Kevin) Krantz of Ridgeway, Ray Brunner (Elaine Anderson) of Black Earth, Mardelle (Mike) Zanoni of Rochester, Minn., Jacalyn (Mike) Salazar of Sacramento, Calif., Janyce Stank of Sheboygan, Shelley Brunner of Mount Horeb and Douglas Brunner of Black Earth; a countless number of nieces and nephews; siblings, Anna, Kathleen and Patrick of the U.K.; and her very special friend, Valerie Musselwhite.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan; daughter, Arleen; parents, Mr. and Mrs. O’Reily; in-laws, Francis Brunner, Janice Brunner, Mary Brunner, Vern Ripp and Ken Brunner; and two sisters.
A Celebration of Life for Rose will take place at 739 Mills St., Black Earth, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. 2024. A private burial will take place at a later date.
A special thank you to the staff at Meriter Hospital for their excellent care and kindness to Rose while in her final hours, and to Agrace HospiceCare for their caring and kind words of encouragement.
