STOUGHTON - Henrietta Marie McKichan, age 88, of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in the company of family at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1936, in Glen Haven, Wis., to John and Marie (Long) Meier, and grew up on a farm in rural Cassville, Wis. Henrietta married Clyde McKichan on July 5, 1954, and they lived on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nev., during Clyde’s military service. They later moved to Milwaukee and also resided in rural Cottage Grove, McFarland and finally settled in Stoughton.
Henrietta was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and supporting the Milwaukee Brewers. Her life was filled with joy by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dogs, Ginger and Harmony.
Henrietta is survived by her sons, Bernard (Barbara) McKichan and David (Shannon) McKichan; brother, Joseph (Karen) Meier; sister, Connie Calaam; sister-in-law, Donna Meier; grandchildren, Ryan (Suzanne) McKichan, Liz (Craig) Brekken, Brianna McKichan, Maggie McKichan, Caitlin (Matthew Marusich) McKichan; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; sister, Patricia Brekke; brothers, William Meier and John Meier Jr.; and brother-in-law, Don Brekke.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 12 noon on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. A private family burial will be held.
