Kathleen Ann Parker

July 11, 1951 - July 20, 2024

Obituary

MADISON - Kathy was born on July 11, 1951, to Arlene (Landsness) and Richard Parker.  She began her next great adventure on July 20, 2024.

She grew up in Madison and Milwaukee and she also lived in Burnsville, Minn., for 20 years in the 80s and 90s.

Kathy was a big believer in co-ops and worked in finance at both Valley Natural Food Co-op in Burnsville, Minn., and Madison Community Co-op in Madison.  After retirement, she started her own bookkeeping business where she worked with clients for many years.  Her clients loved her, and she loved them back.

Kathy’s biggest joy and accomplishment was her family - her two sons, who were the heart of her life, and being Gouda/Grandma to her five magnificent grandchildren.

In her younger years, Kathy loved to dance, play racquetball, and do needlework. Kathy had a competitive streak -- she loved a great game of cards, Wordle, and backgammon with her sister, Liz.  She was a great proponent of natural and organic foods long before it became fashionable and had been eating organic since the 1980s.

Kathy is survived by her two sons, Anthony (Lauren) Berceau and Timothy (Kelly) Berceau; her five grandchildren, Gavin, Davis, Henry, Caroline and Elsie Berceau; her sister and best friend, Elizabeth Parker; her sister, Eileen (Phil) McConnell; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad and her baby brother, William (Bill) Parker.

A celebration of life will be held at HARRIET PARK, 414 Mary Lou St., Verona, Wis., from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024. Kathy’s favorite season was Fall, and we look forward to celebrating her life with all her cherished family and friends at her favorite time of the year.

“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.” -Kahlil Gibran

Dear Kathy, I was thinking of you the other day and sent you a text message. When I didn't hear back, I searched for your name online and discovered that you had passed away. I know it won't sound silly to you to say that I now realize I wasn't just thinking of you the other day - we were having an otherworldly chat. It was such a treat to hear from you, bless you for thinking of me. You will be missed.

Please accept our condolences. Kathy was my mom’s (Fran’s) neighbor at Prairie Park. They became good friends over the last few years. My mom passed in July of 2023, hopefully they have reconnected to share a few stories…. Blessings to you and your family… Love, Fran’s daughter, Kathy 🤗
