Obituary
ARLINGTON - Thomas G. Adams, age 65, of Arlington, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in the comfort of his beautiful country home, surrounded by his family that loved him dearly. He was diagnosed with a rapid spreading cancer just 46 days prior to his passing.
Tom was born on Feb. 23, 1959, in Green Bay, the son of Jack and Dorthy Adams. He graduated from Sun Prairie High School, with the class of 1978 and from Madison Area Technical College with a Culinary Arts degree. Tom worked at C. J.'s Restaurant for many years as a chef. He married his best friend and love of his life, Maureen Grady, on Oct. 5, 2009. For the past 15 years, Tom has been working for Jim's Painting as a painter.
To know Tom, was to love him. He never took life too seriously and he trucked through the chapters of his story with a youthful spirit and adventurous heart. Tom loved to tinker and rarely sat still. He was always down for a good time, and a good time was had when Tom was with us.
Things that most people would casually walk past, Tom highlighted the beauty within. Whether it be scrap metal, an eagles nest, a hula hoop peace sign, rocks, lawn ornaments, or old boat motors, he was there to share his treasures with the world. He held onto a rare trait that most adults lose overtime, treasuring the “overlooked.”
He loved spending time at the family cabin in Northern Wisconsin, boating, going to tractor pulls, attending car shows, and could spend hours garage saling. He was an animal lover and a devoted Packers Fan.
Tom will be dearly missed by his wife, Maureen; daughter, Jennifer (Jeremy) DeBoer; son, Jon (Nicola) Adams; stepdaughter, Nicole Wampole; grandchildren, Julia, Erica and Adam DeBoer, and Madison and Paylor Adams; brother, John (Debra) Adams; sisters, Sherry Adams, Barbara (Jennifer Foster) Adams and Judy (John) Engel; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Adams; and stepson, Patrick Grady.
A celebration of life will be held at THE EAST SIDE CLUB, 3735 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family, or to Agrace Hospice, to whom the family offers their thanks for the incredible, compassionate care they offered Tom and his family during his final days. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
