CROSS PLAINS - Lynne Marie Sutter, age 80, of Cross Plains, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Cardinal View Senior Living. She was born on March 13, 1944, the daughter of Florian and Teresa (Brunner) Zwettler.
Lynne graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Russell Sutter, on Oct. 22, 1963, in Pine Bluff, Wis. They spent 58 wonderful years together.
Lynne was a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She enjoyed all the family visits and hosting card parties with her friends and family. She also was an avid sports fan, especially watching the Brewers, Packers and the Badgers. She was very crafty, putting pictures together in a scrapbook and making her own beautiful cards. She was full of knowledge and was always working on puzzles.
Lynne was a devoted grandma and enjoyed attending all of her children and grandchildren’s events. They were truly her pride and joy.
Lynne is survived by her children, Joann (David) Statz, Christopher Sutter and Eric (Veronica) Sutter; grandchildren, Andrew and Jeremy Statz, Brandon and Kyla Sutter, Alex, Katelyn and Logan Sutter; brothers, Dick (Carol) Zwettler, Jim (Jean) Zwettler, John Zwettler and Chuck (Jane) Zwettler; sister, Judy (Jerry) Keller; brother-in-law, Tom Sutter; sisters-in-law, Martha Amezquita, Barb Zwettler, Toni (Jim) Adams, Marlene (Dick) Acker, Rosie Miller, Cec (Bill) Walsh, Pauline Tvedt, Louise Sutter, Marge Sutter and Rosie Sutter; and her lifelong friend, Jan Legler.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell; parents, Florian and Teresa Zwettler; beloved son, Stephan Sutter; brothers, Tom Zwettler and Larry Zwettler; sister, Nancy Sutter; sister-in-law, Janice Zwettler; and brothers-in-law, Laverne (Agnes) Sutter, Syl, Joe and Dennis Sutter, Ken Miller and Lou Tvedt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, with Father Tom Coyle and Father Michael Wanta presiding. Family and friends who wish to view the Mass via LIVESTREAM may visit Lynne’s obituary page at www.gundersonfh.com at the time of the Mass and click on Watch Now in the Webcast section. Burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
