Obituary

STOUGHTON - Kenneth James "Ken" Weidner, age 84, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. He was born on Dec. 13, 1939, in Janesville, Wis., to Bruno and Marie (Christianson- Lee) Weidner.


Kenneth graduated from Fort Atkinson High School and MATC with an accounting degree. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Tamminga on Dec. 17, 1960. Prior to retirement he worked for the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources. After retiring, he enjoyed spending his winters in Destin, Fla.


Ken was a Master Mason also belonged to Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He was a former member of the Lake Ripley Country Club, Ruffed Grouse Society and other sports clubs. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying several trips to Canada, where he would serve as a guide to moose hunters. He enjoyed stamp collecting, antiquing, farming and the great outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was truly a special person.


Kenneth is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; daughter, Cindy (James) Butzlaff; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ann Weber. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela; brother, William and grandson, Brandon.


A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
