Obituary
Marie France "Diane" Savoie was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, where her parents, Gildard Savoie and Patricia Allard, met and taught there in the early 1960s. Then, the little family moved to Lamèque in New Brunswick to join the family clan of her father when Diane was very young. Diane had to leave this place at the end of her adolescence to go to school. Insatiable for knowledge, Diane studied for a very long time before going to work. Her career took her to the United States where she met Mike Rolfs whom she married. She was a resident of Madison, Wisconsin at the time of her death.
Diane is survived by her brother, Charles residing in Quebec; numerous paternal uncles and aunts in New Brunswick, including Edmée and Étienne Noël, Yvette and Léandre Gauvin and her uncle, Arsène Savoie and Thérèse Blackburn of Jonquière. On her mother's side, she is survived by her two aunts, Lina and Pâquerette Allard residing in the village of Lotbinière in Quebec.
Diane also had many cousins both in Quebec and New Brunswick, including Hélène Moreault, daughter of Lina Allard, with whom she corresponded regularly for at least 20 years. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
