MOUNT HOREB- Lela M. “Sally” Schultz, age 97, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on April 3, 1927, in Viroqua, the daughter of William and Minna (Sass) Hamilton.
Sally was united in marriage to James M. Schultz on June 13, 1946, and together they were blessed with eight children.
Sally was loving, kind-hearted and optimistic, and appreciated everyone for what they did to help her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, beating everyone at Yahtzee, reading and quilting. She made a treasured quilt for each of her children and grandchildren and also provided quilts to many charities in the community.
Sally is survived by her five daughters, Patricia (Ed) Rowland, Lisbeth Bradley, Jill Wilson, Jaclyn (Steven Czarniak) Schultz-Czarniak and Juli (Glenn) Gray; son, Gus (Julie) Schultz; son-in-law, Carmen Stout; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minna; husband, James; daughters, Katherine Stout and Janet Schneider; son-in-law, Robert Wilson; and two sisters and two brothers.
