STOUGHTON - Leslie L. Stoikes, age 93, of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Milestone Senior Living in Stoughton. She was born on July 15, 1930, in Stoughton, the daughter of Tom Ellis and Catherine (Groose) Ellis.
Leslie married the love of her life, Harold Stoikes, on March 26, 1951, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Stoughton. Leslie and Harold loved traveling around the country in their RV, and loved hiking, fishing and camping. They shared a long and happy life together.
Leslie was a happy person and treated everyone with respect and compassion. She received her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1970 and was dedicated to her work as a nurse for the WIC program, as well as being a public nurse for the state. She did not stop at taking care of her patients, as her nursing skills went on to care for her family in times of need as well.
Leslie is survived by her husband, Harold; son, Terry (Kathy) Stoikes; granddaughter, Alicia Gourlie; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Evelyn and Jack. She was preceded in death her parents, Tom and Catherine; sisters, Shirley Brown and Leona Nelson; and brother, Dick Ellis.
A graveside service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
