MADISON - Paul Javier Hernandez, age 35, of Madison, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital, after a courageous battle with diabetes. He was born on April 4, 1989, in Madison, Wis., the son of Javier and Maria (Garcia) Hernandez.
Paul loved to cook and was the proud owner of Tacos El Capi. He was full of life, a giant teddy bear with a huge heart and a great sense of humor. He sought joy in life and wanted to share that with others, always making people smile and laugh. He was passionate about motorcycles, cars and boats. He lived life fast, and to the fullest. Family was very important to Paul. They would describe him as a warrior, stoically fighting through his illness.
Paul is survived by his mother, Maria Garcia; daughter, Jocelyn; sisters, Leticia (Daniel) and Lucy (Martin); brother, Mateo; his nieces, nephew, and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by father, Javier Hernandez.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery following the Mass.
Paul’s family would like to thank his medical team at St. Mary’s for the compassionate care he received over the many years of his treatment.
