Obituary

MIDDLETON - Cynthia Marie Temple passed peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024, following a short illness.

Cynthia was an outgoing, funny, witty, caring intelligent woman who lived life her way.  Growing up, Cindy was always the brightest kid in the class and was very popular. She was a very beautiful woman and even did some modeling in her late teens. She received a master’s in social work from the University of Madison and in 1990 moved to the Twin Cities to work for Hennepin County as a child protection social worker.

Cindy had a strong compassion for those less fortunate than her, always giving money to homeless people and making hundreds of gift bags with beauty items for kids in homeless shelters to give to their mothers on Christmas Day. More than anything, Cindy enjoyed being around other people, having the gift of gab to strike up a conversation with anybody.  Always the life of the party, she loved to laugh, tell stories and have fun. She will best be remembered for her incredible sense of humor and the practical jokes she would play on anyone she could.

Cindy enjoyed nature and beautiful places.  She especially enjoyed time spent at her family cabin and Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Cynthia was also a voracious reader and you could often catch her with her nose in a book, particularly Agatha Christie mysteries.  When her father passed, she moved back to Madison to be close to her mother and remained there until her passing in 2015.  She spent the remainder of her life in Denver with her devoted boyfriend of seven years, Peter Perez.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Temple; and mother, Margery. She is survived by her brothers, Terrence (Mary) Temple, Craig Temple, Joe (Jan) Temple, Gary (Cherie), Temple, Dan Temple and Jeff (Sherry) Temple; and sisters, Karen Temple and Patricia Temple; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, Wis, at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Cindy will be laid to rest next to her mother and father at a graveside service at RESURRECTION CEMETERY, 2705 Regent St., Madison, following the service on Friday.
