Obituary

MADISON - Pat Klitzman, our brother, uncle and friend, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 7, 2024. While we’re heartbroken, it’s time to remember and pay tribute to him.

Pat loved to cook (especially for crowds), pool parties, loud music and friendly banter (often inappropriate). He loved Harley Davidsons, good food/music venues and his pets, especially Murray. There was nothing Pat cherished more than his friends and family. He had a big heart and generously shared with everyone he cared about. Pat was proud of the business he built, smart and savvy in sales and service. We’ll miss his classic grin and witty commentary. Hug your loved ones tightly and often. RIP Patarick

Pat is survived by his sisters, Nancy “Nicki” (Ed) Hoesly of New Glarus and Sue (Doug) Lefeber of Madison; niece, Nicole (Jeff) Johnston and their children, Kaleb, Lindsay and Carter, all of Dodgeville; nephews, Greg (Sara Phillips) Lefeber, Griffin (Syd) Lefeber and their daughter Nina, all of Madison. He is further survived by his uncle, Tom; numerous cousins; and last, but not least, many friends that were truly like family to Pat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Mary Klitzman; and brothers, Dan and Jim Klitzman.

Special thanks to Shelter From the Storm Animal Rescue Inc. for their help. You may donate on their website if you’re so inclined. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

When I think of Pat, I think of laughter at our family reunions. When you put Pat and Jeff together, you could never be quite sure what would happen. Pat, you left us way too soon. I will always have a smile on my face when I think of you.

When Pat got that former fireman's house, our entire circle of friends suddenly had a pool in the mix. A street just one block long somehow became the center of our summer world. Pat was the consummate host, toiling for hours to prepare late afternoon feasts. I moved away about a dozen years ago, but my memories of that man and all the good times have never diminished. Next time I'm in town I'll be getting a 25B in his honor.

Pat is one of the most caring, considerate and genuine person I have ever known. He work hard and know how to play too. I will forever remember his smile and the selfless friendship he shared with me and my family. His BBQ and aluminum foil potatoes will always be remembered. Not sure if I mention this to you before, but THANK YOU for being a part of my life. Rest in Peace Pat.
