I met Al as a competitor working at WISM in the late 70's. We shared many of the same accounts and he was very helpful to me in my early years in sales. Very objective and a great radio guy. One of the good ones.

I never met Al in person, but I know him through Barb, a fellow quilter in our weekly quilting group. Barb is one of the strongest and dearest friends I know, and could only have developed into such a wonderful soul with the loving support of a kindred spirit. She always spoke of Al with love in her voice and his central role in her life was evident. I know he will be very much missed, and my condolences go out to all his family.

Al has been on my mind all day today so I searched with his name in Google and found out that he had died. He was a very special person. My mother-in-law (91) is in the room with me and keeps saying 'He was such a nice fella', which sums him up. When Al and Barb stayed with her, she was recently widowed and Al was a great comfort sitting and talking with her. He was very kind to me from when Barb first introduced us and was always welcoming to our family. He provided a work experience opportunity for our son, Seth, at the radio station when my son was 14, which was a formative experience for him. When we were in Madison, our children thought of Al and Barb as surrogate grandparents. He and Barb introduced us to canoeing down the Crystal River - three times in all - which was a very wet, very strenuous and fun-filled experience. This is just one of many happy memories of being with Al. We have missed our contact with the Stock family and our condolences go out to them at this difficult time. With love, John, Vicky, Molly, Seth and Lydia.

I worked in advertising for nearly 20 years, and all during that time, Al Stock was such a kind, funny guy. We shared many ups and downs that are sometimes prone to the Industry. He was a friend and a colleague and I will miss him very much. My heart goes out to Barb and his family, to whom he was devoted. Such a sad loss.
