Obituary

OREGON - Steven “Steve” Frederick Frisch, age 73, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, with his family by his side, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on May 19, 1951, in Madison, Wis., the son of Frederick and Audrey (Drunasky) Frisch. Steve graduated from West High School in 1971.

Steve and Sharon Vorndran were married on Aug. 18, 1979, at St. John's Catholic Church in Spring Green. They met while playing outfield during a softball game and were married for 45 years, living in Oregon for over 30 years, raising four amazing children. Steve worked in the Sub-Zero factory, retiring in 2013.

Steve is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Jessica (Jason) Roberts, Derrick (Jamie) Frisch, Katie (Jon) Sypniewski, Kevin (Michael Barsanti) Frisch, and his dog, Bailey. He is also survived by sisters, Mary (Mike) Newman) Sims and Kathy (Brian) Revello; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Dave Sims; mother-in-law, Irene Vorndran; and sister-in-law, Jean Faber.

Steve was a proud grandpa of nine grandchildren and always took good care of his family. He loved Wisconsin sports and animals, especially dogs. Steve enjoyed playing lottery scratch offs, going to the casino, landscaping, playing golf and butter pecan ice cream.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jessica Roberts. We would not have gotten through the last four years without her help and dedication taking care of her dad. Also, a big thank you to Beth Craig for being such a great support person to him. He always looked forward to her visits.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, with Father David Wanish and Father Lawrence Oparaji presiding.  Please dress casually for this event as Steve was never one for anything formal.  A visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.

Steve was an amazing cousin. I love him so much!! He was always joking around; especially with my brother Charlie Frisch that left us in 2020. He will always remain in my heart and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Carrie and I were privileged to know Steve for only a short time since our son Jon and now daughter Katie joined hands and created a bond with our families. We were most fortunate in having the wonderful experience of sharing conversation and memories with Steve. We appreciated this short but pleasureable time to become closer and recognize Steve as he was. A friend when needed, a person to share thoughts and his great love for wife, children and grandchildren. Thank you for allowing the pleasure in sharing the friendship and kindness of the brief time we enjoyed One favor Steve....be an angel in the outfield and do what you can for the Brewers, Packers and Badgers Your friends, Rob and Carrie Sypniewski
