Obituary
OREGON - Mark Wayne von Allmen, age 66, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Oregon. He was born on Feb. 19, 1958, in Madison, the son of Carl and Mary (Walterscheit) von Allmen.
Mark graduated from Oregon High School in 1976 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 - 1982. He was united in marriage to Jean (Johnson) von Allmen on June 26, 1982, in Madison.
Mark worked for the City of Madison and was a member of VFW Post No. 1318 and the NRA.
Mark was a firearm enthusiast. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, boating, Formula One racing and especially spending time with his family. He loved watching old John Wayne movies and the Cubs. Mark was a handyman and could fix anything. He was always willing to help out others.
Mark is survived by his wife, Jean; son, Nick (Alyssa) von Allmen; daughter, Erica von Allmen; grandchildren, Gavin, Jaxon, Lilian, Porter and Deegan; brother, John (Holly) von Allmen; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Chris von Allmen.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, with Pam Gillingham presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
