Obituary

MADISON / RICHLAND CENTER - Rick Gene Pompa, age 67, of Richland Center, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on July 23, 1956, in Appleton, the son of John and Lillian (Lewis) Pompa.

Rick attended Appleton West High School.  He was united in marriage to Annette Taggart on Nov. 3, 1979, in Appleton, Wis.  Rick worked in the paper mill industry where he retired as a machine operator for Stora Enso Paper Mill in Wisconsin Rapids.

Rick loved popping in on family and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding motorcycles, going to live concerts, camping, gardening and taking care of his beloved Roses. Rick volunteered to help with his son’s Boy Scouts of America den. Rick was a great baseball player and helped coach his daughter and son’s little league teams. He worked hard to provide for his family and had a special sense of humor.

Rick is survived by his son, Robert "Robb" (Alyssa Williamson) Pompa and their sons, Beckett and Sulivan; and his daughter, Lisa Pompa-Adams and her eight children. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian; wife, Annette; and nine of his siblings.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
