Obituary

MADISON - Charles D. Stankovsky, age 74, of Madison, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1950, in Milwaukee, the son of Charles and Emily (Kovac) Stankovsky.


Charles graduated from high school in Milwaukee and received his master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University in Madison. He was united in marriage to Marie C. Stankovsky for 50 years.


Charles worked as a project manager in the Madison area for 48 years. He was an EMT for Maple Bluff, Blooming Grove, Burke and a firefighter with the Town of Blooming Grove. He also delivered newspapers for the Wisconsin State Journal for many years. Charles was a member of City Church and their school, Abundant Life Christian School. He enjoyed coaching high school and club soccer teams.


Charles loved spending time with his family. He was a foodie and loved going out to eat, his favorites being fish fries with a Manhattan. He enjoyed going to Jefferson swap meets and tinkering and working on cars.  


Charles is survived by his wife, Marie; sons, Jonah (Marie) Stankovsky and Josiah (Autumn) Stankovsky; daughters, Jenni Stankovsky and Jackie (Nathan) Walker; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Stankovsky; grandchildren, Emily, Gavin, Ashley, Isaac, Eli, Oliver and Henrik Stankovsky; sister, Terri (Tom) Ross; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Joshua Stankovsky.


A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024.

To Marie And family; Chuck was an awesome guy! He would give you the shirt off his back and always found time to help me whenever i needed it. He was a devoted family man. We shared many good family times together. car shows fireworks soccer working on vehicles etc... He will be greatly missed! Thanks for all the good times and great memories. Mike Gulvik
