Emilie J. Hawk

MADISON - Emilie J. Hawk, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at St. Mary's Care Center. She was born on Nov. 25, 1937, in Sun Prairie Township, the daughter of Loren and Hanna (Wesley) Johnson.

Emilie graduated from Stoughton High School in 1956. She married David S. Hawk in February of 1961, who was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Together they were blessed with two sons, Robert and Michael. As a service family they lived in New York, Colorado, Arizona and Washington state and in the late ‘70s they resided in Turkey and Belgium. Emilie and David divorced in February of 1980.

Emilie was very organized and enjoyed keeping things around her home neat and tidy.  She loved watching her sons’ little league games, as well as the Brewers and Seatle Mariners. She was an animal lover and enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, baking and fishing. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Middleton.

Emilie will be missed by her sons, Michael (Kathleen) Hawk and Robert (Sandra) Hawk; grandchildren, Terence Hawk, Dustin (Taeko) Hawk, Robert (Rachel Mysliwiec) Hawk and Jasmine (Modesto Re) Hawk; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Hawk, and Iris and Finnick Humphrey; sister, Joyce (Richard) Sutton; sister-in-law, Darlene Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Hanna; brothers, Robert and Ronald Johnson; sisters, Dorothy (Richard) Leming, Arlene Johnson and Lorraine (Robert) Johnson; and stepmother, Ethel (Fisher) Johnson.
