Obituary
FITCHBURG - Marian Catherine Swab, age 91, of Fitchburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Aug. 20, 1932, in Tennyson, Wis., the daughter of Maynard and Loretta (Timmerman) Schmitz.
She studied nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1953. On Nov. 6, 1954, she married Roger Swab in Mount Hope, Wis. Prior to retirement, she enjoyed a nursing career at the Grant County Clinic. In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, and going to garage sales.
Marian is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Dennis) Kucik and Mary (Erick) Rostad; sister, Carol Parkins; brothers, Jim (Marlys) Schmitz, John (Daniele Flannery) Schmitz, Joe (Kay) Schmitz and Bob (Connie) Schmitz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Swab; sisters, Marcella Mulrooney and Jeanette Sweeney; and brother, Maynard Schmitz Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1128 St. James Court, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, with Father Andrew Showers presiding. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
