Obituary
EDGERTON - Anthony P. Troha passed away peacefully at his home in Edgerton, Wis., on May 12, 2024. He was known to most as Tony, but as T to his closest friends.
T was born on May 24, 1941, in Pittsburg, Pa., the son of John J. Troha and Stella J. (Kochosky) Troha. He grew up in Carnegie, Pa., graduated high school and then entered into the U.S. Air Force. He was a proud veteran who severed at Truax Air Force Base in Madison, Wis., in the early 1960s. Shortly thereafter he met Sally M. Imhoff, who he would later marry. They had two children, Brian Anthony in 1965 and Sara Marie in 1970. The family moved to Stoughton, Wis., in 1972.
T started his employment career as a line worker at Oscar Mayer in Madison. Several different jobs would follow, and T's boisterous and friendly personality allowed him to make large groups of friends everywhere he went. He touched the lives of many throughout his life.
T loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved golfing with friends. In his younger days he would take his children to various state parks to explore nature and go swimming. T was also known for his enjoyment in taking photographs and preserving moments in time for the future. In his retirement, he loved to spend time with family and friends. He was always ready for impromptu yard games with his kids and granddaughter, Alyssa Marie. He treasured these moments knowing these were the true gifts in life.
T was an avid gardener and grower of fruit. He enjoyed making homemade salsa, apple sauce and many types of baked goods that he generously shared. He was a giving person at heart and shared with those in need where he could.
T is survived by his lifelong friend, Mary (Loli) Taufer of Pennsylvania; son, Brian A. (Sandy A.) Troha; former wife, Sally M. Hanson and her husband, Sheldon Hanson; son-in-law, Steve Shimek; and granddaughter, Alyssa M. Shimek. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella; sister, Patricia A. “Pat” Darnley; and daughter, Sara Marie Shimek.
