Jacqueline Marie Gefke

OREGON - Jacqueline M. “Jackie” Gefke, age 72, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on Oct. 28, 1951, in Madison, the daughter of Robert “Bob” and Jean (Zimmerman) Gefke.

Jackie graduated from Oregon High School in 1970. She worked as a clerk in medical records at the Dean Clinic in Oregon for many years.

Jackie was a member of the Oregon Horse Association. She enjoyed riding and caring for her horses. Growing up, she was active in 4H where she showed Holsteins. Jackie was on many bowling leagues over the years. She was a collector of teddy bears and enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, baking cut-out cookies, playing cards and crafts. Jackie will be fondly remembered for her beautiful handmade birthday cards that she sent to her family and friends, never forgetting their special day. She loved visiting her special girlfriends at the Birthday Girls Club and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews and their families. She was a loving aunt who never asked anything of her many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews but allowed them all to be kids. They adored her just as much as she adored them and will be greatly missed.

Jackie is survived by her mother, Jean; brothers, Steve (Carol) Gefke, Paul (Jill) Gefke and Robert (Lisa) Gefke; sister, Betsy (Jimmy) Brown; aunt, Nancy Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob; and uncle, Jerry Zimmerman.

A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024, with light refreshments.
