Obituary

Blue Mounds - Robert William “Bob” Prochaska, age 64, of Blue Mounds, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at home. He was born on Jan. 25, 1960, in Dodgeville, the son of John "Jack" and Patricia (Scullion) Prochaska.

Bob graduated from Mount Horeb High School, where he excelled at sports and pranks. He was an accomplished trumpeter and won many state titles and awards.

Following high school, Bob worked for Cub Foods as a manager, and after graduating from Madison College as a journeyman plumber, he worked for Mount Horeb Plumbing for over 20 years. He also owned Prochaska Trucking. He particularly enjoyed working at Tellurian Ucan, where he was much loved by staff and patients.

Bob took very good care of his trucks and taught his children to do so as well. "A clean car is a happy car." He had an epic sense of humor and told lots of "dad jokes." Bob loved his dogs, was a gun collector, and liked hunting and target shooting. Camping, which eventually became “glamping,” was something that brought him joy. He was a lover of music across genres ranging from classics to reggae. Bob was a member of the NRA, a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and a member of various plumber's unions over the years.

Bob is survived by his son, Jacob (Emily Martin) Prochaska; two daughters, Rebecca (Jason Disch) Prochaska and Tania Prochaska; brother, Tom “Pud” Prochaska; sister, Lynn Prochaska; nephew, Scott Prochaska; and two nieces, Tara Prochaska and Sara Paulson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" and Patricia Prochaska; brother, John Prochaska; grandparents, Emmett and Evelyn Scullion; and nephew, Jason Friske.
