Obituary

Middleton - Dwight Scott Ferge, age 59, of Middleton, passed away suddenly on April 11, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 15, 1964, in Madison, Wis., the son of Richard and Roberta (Rydberg) Ferge.

Dwight was a graduate of Monona Grove High School, class of 1982.  He and his brother followed in his great-grandmother, grandfather, and father’s footsteps working at the Madison Oscar Mayer plant within the maintenance department.  Dwight also served in the United States Army as an army storage supply man during the Gulf War.  It was at this time that he was injured in a warehouse accident that left him disabled and unable to work for a significant period of time. He was living at home and helping to care for his mother during her illness in the final years of her life.  After both of his parents had passed away, Dwight moved to a small apartment in Middleton, where he lived quietly until experiencing sudden cardiac arrest earlier this month.

Dwight is survived by his son, Scott (Jessy) Ferge; grandchildren, Aliyah, Chastity and Emilia Ferge; sister, Debbie Monson; brother, Douglas (Patricia) Ferge; nephews, Adam Monson and Ethan (Katie) Monson; nieces, Katherine (Lucas) Pierce and Abigail Ferge; and several great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carroll and Ruby (Gunderson) Ferge; his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Ruth (Shaw) Rydberg; parents, Richard and Roberta Ferge, and nephew, Mitchell Monson.

A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024.

I'm very sad right now because Dwight was my very good friend and he always laughed at my memes. I had no idea what was going on because he started to message me that he loved me and I had no idea how to take this. I told him I loved him and that he had a heart of gold. I will miss my friend but he's still in my heart 💜
