Obituary

MONONA - Patrick M. Grady, age 48, of Monona, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, following complications from Crohn’s Disease. He was born on Oct. 11, 1975, in Madison, Wis.

Patrick graduated from La Follette High School in 1993. He worked in the restaurant business from the time he was a young man. He started the O'Grady Frozen Pizza Company with his good friend, Jason Rodefeld.  O’Grady’s Pizza was found in many Madison area grocery stores.

In his free time Patrick enjoyed golfing, but his real enjoyment came from spending time with his children, who were his pride and joy. When I think of Pat. I’ll always remember his genuine kindness and his cleaver, sharp wit and ‘bent’ sense of humor! Pat was a man’s man and man who most definitely wasn’t shy about delving out a few jabs after receiving a good ribbing! Pat genuinely admired and respected other talented athletes. Especially those who were close to his age. He had a great, near photographic memory worn it came to dates, places, specific games to specific plays. Be it in high school, college or pro sports. I always enjoyed my conversations with Pat. He was always ‘real’. There was nothing phony about Pat. Unfortunately. Like so many other chronic pain sufferers. Pat relied heavily on his amazing sense reality and his fantastic sense of humor to help mask his pain. Regardless to how poorly he may have felt. Pat would always, always offer, ‘Dude! I can’t complain. Because I know there’s others that have it far worse than I do!’ Pat would offer further…’I know there are those who feel a lot worse than I do!. “Those people? Those people are my hero’s” Z. They really are!’…. That’s the courage and the heart of a true fighter. Of all my conversations with Pat over the years. I will always remember how much he enjoyed talking about all those that he truly loved. Especially his kids. First and foremost. Pats children were always close to his heart. ….If theres baseball in heaven Pat. You’ve earned the right to be ‘IN THE FRONT ROW!’ God speed Patrick! SUAIMHNEAS SIORAI AIR ~Z
