Obituary
LODI - Robert H. Hellenbrand, age 92, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born at home on the family farm in Dane on October 21, 1931, the son of John and Frances (Wipperfurth) Hellenbrand.
Bob married Lois (Lovik) Hellenbrand on October 17, 1968, in Portage.
He was drafted and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Silver Star. Participating in honor flight was one of his fondest memories.
Bob worked in the maintenance department for UW- Madison until his retirement.
He could fix and repair most anything placed in front of him and loved to “shoot the breeze” with any who would listen in his garage. Bob enjoyed cutting and splitting firewood.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Donna (Jerry Bell) Hellenbrand, and Becky (Jonas) Martell; grandchild, Jacob Hellenbrand-Bell; four sisters, Arlene Michels, Viola (Donald) Bohler, Vera Henriksen, and Shirley Lawson; brother, Roman Hellenbrand; and other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Hellenbrand; daughter, Constance Gundlach; two brothers, Alfred Hellenbrand, and Donald Hellenbrand; two sisters, Mary Ann Benish, and Catherine Hochstein.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at BLESSED TRINITY CATHOLIC PARISH AT ST. PATRICK CHURCH, 521 Fair St, Lodi, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, with the Rev. Fr. Enan Zelinski presiding. Entombment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024, and also at the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
