Obituary
BLACK EARTH - Jimmie L. "Beard" Lindley, age 73, of Black Earth, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. He was born on Feb. 18, 1951, in Golden, Miss., the son of AC and Johnnie (Pharr) Lindley.
Jimmie graduated from Wisconsin Heights High School in 1969. He was united in marriage to Nancy Moe on Nov. 14, 1981, in Madison. He was the proud co-owner for AC Lindley and Sons, retiring in 2015.
Jimmie enjoyed playing fast pitch softball. He took immense pride in coaching his boys in baseball, basketball, and football, imparting not only the rules of the game but the values of teamwork, perseverance, loyalty, and fair play. His love for competition extended from the bowling alleys and the great outdoors, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of hunting with friends.
He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. They were the light of his life.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Nancy; sons, Brandon (Chelse) Lindley and Nathan Lindley; grandchildren, Brieanna, Luella, Teagan and Cooper Lindley; brothers, David (Ann) Lindley and Joe (Linda) Lindley; and sister, Sandy (Barry) Behringer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO BLACK EARTH FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1710 Center St., Black Earth, at 12 noon on Friday, April 5, 2024. Private burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Black Earth. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, and also from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
