Obituary
BROOKLYN - Edith Marie (Alme) Schulz, age 92, of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully at home, with her two daughters by her side on Saturday morning, March 23, 2024. She was born on Sept. 26, 1931, in Rutland, Wis., the daughter of Orin and Enid (Miller) Alme. Edith graduated from Oregon High School in 1949. She worked as a CNA for Badger Prairie, retiring in 1996.
Edith loved to travel, enjoying many trips to Alaska to visit her son, Tom. She also visited Ireland, Mexico, Disneyland and Hawaii with family.
Edith is survived by her daughters, Luanne Jackson and Patricia Atkinson; her sons, Norman (Diane) Schulz, James (Maria) Schulz and John (Darsy) Schulz; 13 grandchildren; Jeff (Jen) Jackson, Clayton (Heather) Schulz, Jessie (Pam) Schulz, Brad (Ashley) Schulz, Nikki Schulz, Mike (Traci) Atkinson, Michelle (Cory) Harmon, Jenny (Rob) Mackie, Carrie (Eric) Burkhalter, Seth (Ashley) Schulz, Garrett Schulz, Gianna Schulz and Samantha (Lee) Hageman; 17 great-grandchildren, Brianna Schulz, Leah, Taylor and Alyssa Schulz, Maddy and Maverick Atkinson, Clayton and Carter Harmon, Alex and Reid Mackie, Nolan, Anna and Chase Burkhalter, Stella, Penelope and Otto Schulz, and Charlie Hageman; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, DeLyle Schulz, son, Tom Schulz; daughter, Cheryl Schulz; brothers, Donald Alme and Dale Alme; sister, Jean Alme; grandson, Joshua Schulz; great-granddaughter, Kylah Schulz; and sons-in-law, Dale Jackson and Stewart Atkinson.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2024. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday.
We would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at Agrace Hospice that took care of Edith in the past few weeks. Thank you for helping Edith live out her life with love and dignity. Caregiving is the most special gift we can give to another human being.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Edith Schulz, Tom Schulz and Cheryl Schulz at ANCHOR CLUB II, 112 Hotel St., Brooklyn, Wis., from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
