Obituary
LODI - Joan Carol Rapean of Lodi, WI, previously of Pecatonica, IL, passed away peacefully and on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at the age of 81.
Joan was born on February 24,1943 to Jack and Olive Ann (Kampen) Bates. She worked many years as a bartender and retired from (what was then) Traex in Dane, WI. After retirement she spent many days going to breakfast or lunch with friends. Some of Joan’s favorite past times were watching The Game Show Network and sharing meals with her four-legged buddy Parker. She enjoyed being outside in the sun, visiting with friends and neighbors, and watching squirrels. Joan’s home was, more often than not, the place to hang out, either in the garage, or playing euchre in the dining room. Joan thoroughly enjoyed watching sports and she was an avid fan of the Bucks, Da Bears (or anyone playing the Packers), the Badgers and Brewers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; two brothers, Jackie and Ross; sister, Nancy; niece, Lisa Lovik; and her children’s dad, Jack Rapean.
She is survived by her children, Pam (Tony) Blaylock, Richard (Cindy) Rapean, and Jason Rapean; brother from another mother, Tom Wolfe; one grandson, Wade (Kelsey) Blaylock; and three great-grandchildren, Adaline, Gracie, and Josephine Blaylock. Near and dear to her heart were great nieces, Alyssa and Madison Lovik and Abigayle Ricketts, great nephew, Alex Lovik, and their dad, Sandy.
Graveside services will be held at MT. PLEASANT CEMETERY, Sauk St., Lodi, WI 53555, at 1 p.m., on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Friends may call at Joan’s house after the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Columbia County Humane Society.
