Obituary
STOUGHTON - Elizabeth “Beth” Bryan died at her sister's home in Stoughton on March 18, 2024, after an illness. Elizabeth was born on June 10, 1959, in Chicago, Ill. Her parents June and Fred Bryan had five children, and Beth was fourth in line in a big Irish Catholic family. Beth excelled in school, graduating from Carl Sandburg High School, and then UW Eau-Claire with a major in Business. She worked hard for several different companies, specializing in marketing and sales development. Her career took her from Chicago, Ill., to Nashville, Tenn., and Scottsdale, Ariz. She thoroughly enjoyed travelling to different parts of the country and immersing herself in the local culture. It was always fun to visit Beth and get a mini tour of the area! Beth also traveled extensively around the world.
Beth was a lifelong exerciser; she loved being outside hiking or playing tennis. She pushed herself through health challenges by striving to get back outside; she felt nature was a great healer. Beth had a lively sense of humor and was often the life of the party. She was a favorite aunt and great-aunt; one of her nieces-in-law called her a "kid magnet."
Beth is survived by her sister, Pam Haese of Stoughton; brother, Patrick Bryan of Walworth; aunts, Mary Norris and Kathy McKenna of South Holland and Dorothy Canny of Washington State; nieces, Beth Swain (Brian) and Maggie Quist (Adam Brown); and nephews, Bryan Haese (Danielle), Tom Haese (Maya), Dan Quist (Liz) and Joe Quist. In addition, she leaves many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as close friends, Deb Madden and Carol Steltzle. Beth will be dearly missed.
Beth was preceded in death by her mother and father, Fred and June Bryan; as well as her sister, Ruth; brother, Jim; and brother-in-law, Gary.
Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at UW Hospital who tried tirelessly to help heal Beth. In addition, thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice who helped make Beth's final days comfortable. A huge thank you to friends and family of Pam who did their best to share the caregiving load over the past weeks.
