My deepest sympathies to Carol’s family. I feel blessed to have been one of her students. Between music class, choir, and swing choir, I spent more time in her classroom than in any other classroom. It takes a special person to teach middle school students to sing - and then get them to perform it and perform it well. Carol just had a way of making us all feel welcomed and loved. My memories of learning guitar (even signing them out, hauling it home on the bus, just so I could practice more), competing with swing choir, and traveling to Chicago for America Sings are some of my favorite memories. Carol, you will truly be missed, but you’ve left a legacy behind. The choir of angels have never sounded more beautiful.

For many years, I was Carol's music department colleague at DeForest Middle School. She taught vocal and general music, and I taught band. What a beautiful human she was - positive, cheerful, gracious, caring, energetic and talented, with a radiant smile. I was blessed to have her as a teaching partner and mentor. She truly affected both me and my teaching career. Singularly amazing!
One memory - After most of our joint concerts, we would go to the Pine Cone Restaurant to decompress and eat cream puffs the size of our heads. I can picture us sitting in a booth, exhausted, smiling at each other.

Carol and Danny were the best neighbors anyone could ask for and our front yard visits were always so delightful. We will hold Carol in our hearts with love and affection, and cherish our memories of her always. Love to Danny, Kristine, and Michael.
