Audrey J Hansen

MADISON - Audrey Jean (Genske) Hansen, age 81, of Madison, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 10, 2024. She was born on Feb. 7, 1943, in Madison, the daughter of Ralph and Agnes (Bouzek) Genske.

Audrey married Rolf David Hansen on April 15, 1967. She worked at Hanks and Bush, an insurance agency for many years and later for Teamsters Union until her retirement.

Audrey and Rolf enjoyed camping in their RV in the Minocqua and Tomah areas with good friends. She, along with Rolf, were avid Badgers and Packers fans. They took a trip to Alaska for their 50th anniversary. They also enjoyed trips to Missouri to visit relatives.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf on Nov. 4, 2023; parents, Ralph and Agnes; sisters and brothers-in-law, Caroline (Cal) Derendinger, Bernice (Herb) Elet and Blanche (Robert) Anderson; and parents-in-law, Orvin and Mary (Benish) Hansen. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Tammy and Amber Fortney; and other good friends.

A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
